The Adansi Dompoasehene, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu II, has officially launched an educational fund aimed at supporting needy but brilliant students within his traditional area.
The initiative was unveiled as part of the one-year celebration of his ascension to the throne, coinciding with the Addae Kese festival held at Adansi Dompoase Ahenfie in the Adansi North District of Ashanti.
In an interview with Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, Okofo Kwabena Bonsu II shared that his primary goal is to provide financial assistance to deserving students who have the potential but lack the resources to further their education.
He expressed a strong desire to see his traditional area populated by graduates, emphasizing that education is the key to unlocking the community’s full potential.
Okofo Bonsu II called on individuals, corporate bodies, citizens of Dompoase both at home and abroad, as well as philanthropists, to support the educational fund.
He highlighted the importance of collaboration in ensuring the sustainability of the project, noting that the government cannot address all educational needs on its own.
The traditional leader further pointed out the alarming number of Senior High School graduates who, despite being qualified for tertiary education, are unable to continue their studies due to financial constraints.
He concluded by stating that his vision as a chief will only be realized when the educational fund becomes a lasting solution for his people.
The fund aims to pave the way for more students to achieve academic excellence, ultimately uplifting the entire Dompoase community.
