The Principal of the Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education, Dr. Dickson Tsey, has advised students to desist from engaging in betting activities.
He explained that betting, coupled with other vices, is detrimental to the academic progress of students as it robs them of time and concentration.
Dr. Tsey made these remarks while addressing the 18th matriculation ceremony of the E.P. College of Education in Amedzofe, located in the Ho West District of the Volta Region.
“Desist from alcoholism, smoking, and betting, which have become the order of the day,” he said.
He urged students to invest their time heavily in studies and research to acquire knowledge that would transform their lives and society.
Dr. Tsey also advised students to abide by the College’s Code of Conduct and live exemplary lives, adding, “I caution you against any practices that may jeopardize your academic and personal future here.”
He encouraged students to collaborate with their peers to share knowledge and ideas, enriching their experiences in a bid to achieve academic excellence.
Furthermore, he urged them to believe in themselves, emphasizing that they possess unique talents yet to be unearthed.
“I cherish every moment of your time here. Be resilient, be courageous, and remember that this is just the beginning of a beautiful path. Your potential is limitless, and I am excited to see the incredible impact you will make,” he concluded.
