Denkyira Chiefs to pacify gods to mark Captain Mahama’s one week

The the Denkyira Traditional Council has set Monday June 5,2017 to pacify the gods of the land following the brutal murder of army Captain Maxwell Mahama.

The service is expected to take place at Denkyira Oboase in the Central region to coincide with the one week passing of the late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama.

The 32-year-old military officer was brutally murdered during an early morning jogging by some residents who mistook him for an armed robber.

Twenty-five persons have since been arrested by the police nefarious act with seven standing trial for murder.

Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah who is in the area reported that the chiefs believe this spiritual exercise may even cause suspects on the run to surrender themselves to law enforcement agencies.

He noted that, the Chief of the Denkyira, Krontihene Odiamono Twum Barimah II, said the special pacification and purification service is to ask for spiritual intervention and to heal the community.

Clad in black, the chiefs condemned the conduct of residents at the presser and have vowed to do everything within their power to get justice for the murdered Army Captain.

The Traditional Council has directed all residents to also wear black on Monday to mark the day of mourning.
