Hot audio: Denkyira-Boase DCE suspended

-

The District Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira West in the Central region, Daniel Appianing has been relieved of his post.

It is unclear the reason for his dismissal, but it is linked to his comments about the lynching of Captain Maxwell Mahama by residents of the Denkyira Boase Township Monday.

Mr. Appianing, who is the current NPP constituency chairman for Upper Denkyira West,  has maintained in media interviews that the slain soldier was part of a military team protecting Chinese illegal miners in the community.

But Deputy Local Government Minister, OB Amoah on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen programme Thursday confirmed the news

He explained that Mr. Appianing has been directed by President Akufo-Addo to handover to the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Thomas Agyei Baffour pending investigations into the conduct.

“His stay in office might compromise the ongoing investigations by the police” he Amoah added.

OB Amoah also revealed that the President has also ordered the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan to present official report on the gruesome murder of Captain Adams Mahama.
