The Democracy Cup’s inaugural match saw Members of Parliament triumph over the former Black Stars in a thrilling game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The lawmakers secured a 1-0 lead by the end of the first half.
However, Sulley Muntari equalized for the former Black Stars team after the break, but the MPs quickly responded with two more goals, ultimately winning the match 3-1.
Later today, Hearts of Oak will face off against Asante Kotoko at 18:00 GMT at the same venue. The winner of this match will represent Ghana in a friendly against DC United in Washington.
These events are part of the country’s celebration of 30 years of Parliamentary Democracy under the Fourth Republic.
