Delay reacts to King Paluta’s ‘Makoma’ snub in 2025 TGMA nominations

Media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the omission of King Paluta’s hit song Makoma from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations.

Taking to her X page on Tuesday, March 18, Delay expressed disappointment over the exclusion of the song from key categories.

“How Makoma didn’t get nominated is exactly why I pray without ceasing. If you stop praying, what rightfully belongs to you can be taken away before your very eyes,” she wrote.

Her statement has added to the growing online debate, as many fans believe Makoma was among the biggest songs of the year and deserved recognition.

Meanwhile, King Paluta and his team have launched a petition demanding clarity on why the song was not considered in any of the four categories they submitted—‘Most Popular Song of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year,’ ‘Hiplife Song of the Year,’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year.’

They insist that Makoma met all ethical and moral requirements of the awards scheme and was one of the most celebrated songs within the year under review.
