The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abass Nurudeen, has voiced concerns about the integrity of some journalists in Ghana.
Speaking at the Adom Brands’ national dialogue on ‘Defending Media Freedom’ in Kumasi, Abass emphasized the importance of responsibility alongside the freedom of the press.
He noted that, while journalists have been granted the independence to perform their duties, many have compromised their integrity by relying on political figures for financial support.
“This behaviour diminishes respect for journalists, making it difficult to report objectively on those they depend on,” he stated.
Mr Abass called on journalists to shift their mindset and narrative, urging them to uphold their professional integrity and fulfill their responsibilities to the public.
