Decision not to distribute 96 ambulances mine – Akufo-Addo

-

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed why some 96 national ambulances to be distributed to the various constituencies across the country remain parked at the State House, while people are perishing in parts of the country because of lack of ambulances.

Addressing the media on the issue at the meet-the-press series, the President revealed that the decision to have the ambulances parked at the forecourt of the State House was his and not that of the Minister for Special Development Initiative.

“I told her (Hawa Koomson) to wait till all the 307 ambulances come so that we can distribute them the same day, because I know that if I don’t have all the 307 ambulances and I start distributing them I would be in trouble,” he said.

He added that the remaining ambulances will be in the country by the end of December and will be commissioned on January 6, 2019 for distribution across the country.

President Akufo-Addo said his decision to wait for all 307 ambulances before distribution was to avoid being accused of favouritism and regionalism.
