Greater Regional Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu has called on President Akufo-Addo to call the “hooligans” in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to order.
According to him, Ghanaians are already battling with the socio-economic hardship in the country thus does not need such thugs to disrupt their peace.

His comment comes after a group affiliated to the ruling party stormed the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) and drove out the Chief Executive Officer of the facility, Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila.
They accused him of being an NDC mole working to make the Akufo-Addo led government unpopular in the Northern region.
About 48 hours after the incident, perpetrators of the crime have been arrested by a joint police and military team in Tamale.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, Anthony Nukpenu said the members of the group should face the full rigorous of the law.
He cautioned the leadership of the NPP not to intervene in prosecution of these thugs if they really have the security of the country at heart.
“Deal with your hooligans; Ghanaians need peace. Akufo-Addo has made things difficult; we are hungry so can’t we live in peace” he quizzed.
Anthony Nukpenu maintained that, just arresting the group known to be affiliated the pro-NPP vigilante group, Khandahar boys is not enough.

“If these people serve just three months jail term for a stupid action, it will serve as a deterrent to others” he stated.
