Ghanaian defender, David Oduro has expressed his determination to break into FC Barcelona’s first team after securing a permanent move to the club.
Oduro signed a three-year contract with the Spanish giants from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions.
Before finalizing his move to Barcelona, Oduro had trials with top European clubs, including Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen.
In an interview with Sporty TV, the young defender outlined his ambitions.
“This is the time for me to work hard, this is not the time to sleep. I have to work extra hard to be able to play in the first team,” he said.
“The aim is to play in the first team, the Champions League and then also for the Ghana national team.”
Oduro also shared that Barcelona’s style of play was a major factor in his decision to join the club.
“I love the way they play. After seeing it first hand, I was convinced by their project, and I’m eager to get started.”
Initially, Oduro will begin his journey with Barcelona Athletic, where he will be joined by fellow Ghanaian Abdul Aziz Issah, who is on loan from Dreams FC.
