Dansoman fire victims to be buried on August 26

The victims who died in a fire outbreak at Dansoman Akokofoto over the weekend will be buried on Sunday August 26th 2018.

President of the Accra City Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Elder Kwabena Ofori Amoah revealed this to Adom News Monday.

The deceased are the wife, mother-in-law and two children of a Dansoman SDA District pastor who had travelled to a church camp meeting in the Eastern Region.

The pastor’s wife who is 30 years, his 4-year-old son, a three week old baby, his mother-in-law who had come to help babysit and a 9-year-old girl she visited with have all been reduced to ashes whilst Pastor Ebenezer Ato Kessie of the Dansoman Branch of the Seventh Day Adventist Church was away doing God’s work.

The fire started around 5:30 am at a time majority of the occupants of the house were still sleeping. Mizpah Ayivor who lives in a room on the ground floor said she woke up to thick smoke in her room.

As she rushed outside to safety, she heard the cries of the five people upstairs but there was little she could do.

All five were confirmed dead when personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service put off the fire.

But, Pastor Solomon Hammond who was at the family house to commiserate with the pastor urged his members to maintain an unshaken faith in God.

He said the family of the deceased has agreed for all five to be buried in Accra as custom demands.

Pastor Hammond noted that, there are working with management of the Methodist University to use their campus for the final funeral rites.
