Daniel Adrian Adjetey has shared his reasons for signing with Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.
The 24-year-old right-back has joined the club on a one-and-a-half-year contract, aiming to make an impact at the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking after his official unveiling, Adjetey expressed his excitement about joining one of Africa’s most storied football clubs.
“It’s an incredible feeling to join Kotoko,” he said in an interview with the club’s website. “This is one of the biggest clubs in Africa, and I’m honoured to be part of it. I’ve had the privilege of playing abroad, but coming back to represent Kotoko feels special.”
“One of the reasons I wanted to return to Ghana is the exceptional project the club’s management shared with me. It’s exciting, and I’m confident this is the right place for me to grow as a player and contribute to something great.”
“I know the expectations here are high, and I’m ready to work hard, compete for my place, and give my all to help the team succeed.”
Adjetey brings a wealth of international experience to Kotoko, having previously played for Danish side Naestved in Division 2 and Latvian top-tier team BFC Daugavpils. A versatile and reliable defender, he is also known for his offensive contributions and began his career in Ghana with Nania FC, where he earned a reputation as a dependable right-back.
The signing of Adjetey marks Kotoko’s fourth acquisition in the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Kwame Opoku, Samuel Eduku, and Isaac Mintah.
Fans can look forward to seeing Adjetey in action as he is expected to feature in the team’s upcoming clash against Karela United.
The match, scheduled for Friday, January 24, at the Baba Yara Stadium, will see Kotoko face a Karela side fighting to avoid relegation.
