The Chief of Dambai Zongo in the Oti Region, Aremeyaw Issah, has called for collaboration with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Deputy Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, following the recent rejection of food items meant for the community.

The incident, which saw youth members turn away Ramadan food donations due to alleged disrespectful remarks from the NDC official, has sparked discussions about the relationship between youth groups and traditional leadership in the Zongo community.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the Dambai Zongo Chief emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders. He attributed the rejection to miscommunication and expressed regret over any misunderstandings that may have arisen regarding the NDC’s intentions.

“We must work together to ensure that resources intended for our community are utilized effectively for the benefit of all,” he stated, urging the youth to engage in constructive dialogue with leaders and political figures.

He reiterated that the primary focus should be on the collective well-being of the community rather than political differences.

Other Zongo chiefs also issued an apology to the NDC for the youth’s actions and advised the party leadership to channel future donations through traditional authorities to prevent similar incidents.
