President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he is was not expecting any praise for the peace that has finally come to the Dagbon Traditional Area.
Delivering the 2019 State of the Nation Address in Parliament Thursday, President Akufo-Addo said he has always had great faith in God and it is that clean heart he has that has paved way for God to use him to secure the peace of Dagbon.
According to him, the country spent enough time, energy and money to resolve the Dagbon dispute and therefore it is his hope that all continue the process until peace becomes the fabric of Dagbion.

“Thousands of our compatriots were in Dagbon to share in the joy of the New Yaa Naa’s coronation a month ago. It marked the climax of a tortuous journey and a hard grind. I’m certainly not looking for praise for the peace that has come to Dagbon.
“I want time, money and effort to be spent on making Dagbon and Ghana great. I pray that we all continue the process until peace becomes the fabric of Dagbion” he noted.

To this end, President Akufo-Addo has declared Tamale as the official Independence Day celebration in a bid to uniting the people.
