Current GFA Executive Council is super weak – George Afriyie

-

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie, has criticized the current Executive Council of the GFA, describing it as “super weak.”

His comments follow the disappointing performances of the national teams under the leadership of Kurt Okraku.

In an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Mr Afriyie expressed concern over the lack of scrutiny from the Executive Council regarding decisions made by Mr Okraku.

He questioned why the members were not challenging or questioning certain choices.

While he cleared Dr. Randy Abbey of any wrongdoing, Afriyie suggested that many of the individuals serving on the Executive Council have strong ties to Mr. Okraku, which may explain their silence.

“The current Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is super weak,” he said. “The only person I know that he will be consulted in terms of decision-making is Dr Randy Abbey.

Reflecting on his time under former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, Afriyie said, “In my time under Kwesi Nyantakyi as Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, this will not happen. I’m surprised that they are not questioning some of the decisions.

“The current Executive Council is super weak,” he added.
