CSE saga: Don’t use LGBT money to build National Cathedral- Minority to govt

-

The Minority in Parliament in questioning the source of funding for the construction of National Cathedral has cautioned the government not to use Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) funds to construct the National Cathedral.

According to the group, the government of Sweden which is funding the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) initiative has so far committed $22 million with an assurance from the Ghanaian government to politically do everything to overcome social resistance and operational constraints.

“Someday, we will ask them because now that we know this, we will be interested that the home of God should be constructed with good and decent money.

“Therefore, whatever is financing the cathedral must not be gay and lesbianism money or external promoters’ money,” he cautioned.

Addressing a news conference on Friday, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu said plans by the Akufo-Addo-led government to introduce the CSE in public schools amounts to “cultural and moral terrorism.

“It is most shocking that a President who carries himself outwardly as a pious builder of the Lord’s Cathedral for which he is pulling down many pre-existing structures including bungalows for Judges and the Passport Office will expose his duplicitous character by embarking on such a terrible assault on the morals of our children.

“It will not be surprising if the cathedral when completed is used to observe gay and lesbianism practices.”
