Ghanaian high-Life sensational artiste, Kwabena Kwabena says negative criticisms motivate him to write good songs.
According to him, he does not pay attention to needless criticism because he focuses all his time and energy on bettering himself as a musician.
“I am inspired with critics to sing more. I am not hiding. Substance is more important. I have been busy. We feed on negatives too much. Unfortunately I take it like that…” he stated in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM Thursday.
Fans of Kwabena Kwabena have descended on him heavily over his long absence from the music scene. They said the once vibrant musician has become very lazy.
But in a riposte, the ‘Bue Kwan’ hit maker called their bluff insisting that he will not be pressured to come out with half-baked songs.
“I close my ears and focus. I just need to focus. I know I have a mission and purpose with regards to music so I focus to better myself. It’s been 4 years since I released my previous album. I had to study the industry. I am happy because some singing boys have emerged and it has been great…” he added.
Kwabena Kwabena further noted that, music is in his veins hence he doesn’t see himself retiring soon.
“Music is like cancer. I can’t do anything about it. God gives it to me so I will keep producing it. People enjoy the albums. People promote the ones I didn’t even promote. That’s the motivation and it’s about the fans…” he maintained.
Kwabena Kwabena is currently promoting his new album dubbed: ‘Ahyesi’.
