Cristiano Ronaldo releases statement on his future

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has released an official statement on his future.

The 36-year-old reacted to speculations linking him away from the Italian giants.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Ronaldo described reports linking him with clubs in various leagues as disrespectful.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move to clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain Manchester United and now Manchester City.

But he said: “Those who know me are aware of how focused I am on my work. Less talk and more action, this has been my guiding motto since the start of my career. However, in view of everything that’s been said and written recently, I have to set out my position.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said that those speculations concerning his future are only but disrespectful to him as an individual and as a player.

Ronaldo lamented what he described as the frivolous way his future is covered in the media, adding that it shows no respect to all the clubs involved as well as to their players and staff.

The star forward said that despite all his achievements in the round-leather game, even during his trophy-laden nine years at Real Madrid, he had a relationship of deep affection and respect for the club.

He said he has retained this respect to this day, and will always cherish it, adding he is certain that the true Real Madrid fans will continue to have him in their hearts.

Ronaldo said that no one has shown interest to know his decision but he only sees “frequent news and stories associating him with a number of clubs in many different Leagues.”
