Representatives of the Ghana Creative Arts Council, led by the President, Mark Okraku-Mantey and some media personnel, have paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Embassy in Madrid, Spain as part of their activities for the 2019 Casa Africa Vis-à-Vis festival.
The delegation met with the High Commissioner H.E. Elizabeth Adjei who expressed her utmost excitement with the preparations so far on the festival.
The High Commissioner, while addressing the delegation, acknowledged the efforts of the Council in pushing the two bands (FRA & Kyekyeku) set to perform at the festival in Spain.
The Consular, Mr Harold Quarshie, also commended Ghanaians for the hard work and being part of the Vis-a-Vis Festival.
The delegation also met with Mr William Manful, the Minister in-charge of the Ghana Embassy in Spain who also encouraged the team to do more of such collaborations to promote Ghanaian music.
“I am excited and feel encouraged by this initiative and will ask all Ghanaians to support the initiative within the media space to help it go far. The Embassy will also support Ghanaian musicians and bands in subsequent years for festivals like the Vis-a-Vis whenever there is an opportunity,” he assured.
The team will also travel to Granada to join the Casa Africa team for the festival at Jaèn and Etnosur where various bands will be playing to a multitude of music lovers from all over the world.
The team will be back to Madrid on Monday July 22, 2019 and to Accra by July 25th.
