Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has credited the Akufo-Addo government’s creation of the Savannah Region with accelerating infrastructure and development.

The Savannah Region is one of five new regions created by the Akufo-Addo administration, carved out of the former Northern Region.

During a campaign visit to Bole on Sunday, Dr Bawumia addressed the Paramount Chief of Bole and his elders, emphasizing the NPP’s commitment to inclusive development.

He highlighted the positive impact of creating new regions on the Savannah Region.

He noted that the creation of the Savannah Region has led to numerous projects, including roads and hospitals, as part of the agenda to build 111 hospitals in various areas.

“We are in politics to help develop our communities and the country. It is significant to note that many of the developments you see in Bole and in the Savannah Region took place under the NPP. And given the chance, we will be able to do even more,” Dr. Bawumia said.

“We have created the Savannah Region and the Savannah Region is seeing a lot of benefits. We are seeing a lot of projects, a lot of roads, a lot of hospitals – the agenda 111 hospitals in various areas. We are doing a lot in Savannah and we want to continue to do more.”

Dr Bawumia also mentioned several completed projects, such as school blocks, market centres, and CHPS compounds, stressing the need for continued support to finish ongoing developments.

The Bolewura welcomed Dr Bawumia and appealed for attention to other local concerns, including the Sawla road, the Bole market, and the Bole Central Mosque.

Dr Bawumia also agreed to renovate the mosque and assured the Bolewura of addressing the other issues.
