CPP Gen. Secretary on why there is insecurity in Ghana

-

Acting General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, says the country is facing insecurity problems because “we are not educated to have probing minds.”

According to him, the best form of security comes from the citizenry and for the citizens to be secured they ought to understand security issues very well.

“This boils down to education and our education system which much teach us the need for us to be alert and ask sensitive questions, we should be educated to have probing minds,” he stated.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, monitored by Adomonline, he elaborated on the need for security personnel to be trustworthy enough to allow citizens to build confidence in them to share sensitive information.

“We should also communicate with those in charge of our securities so that the steps we can’t take as citizens they will take for us, but they must be trustworthy for the citizens to provide them with information,” he said.

Mr Bomfeh also emphasised on the need for the government to invest in security and create more jobs to help minimise the rate of insecurity in the country.

“The security agency is a very serious enterprise which the State must invest in so that some of the crimes can be detected before it even happens and even if it happens the response will be timely.

“There is something called Traders of Insecurity and it increases when there is a high level of unemployment.  When you’ve acquired a certain skill or knowledge and are not applying it, you channel it elsewhere,” he added.
