Covid-19: Find out age range of Ghanaian deaths so far

The age range for Ghana’s Covid-19 deaths has been made known by the Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Badu Sarkodie.

The GHS boss said the ages of persons who have died through the pandemic range between nine and 82 years.

Speaking at a Ministry of Information-organised press conference Tuesday, Dr Sarkodie gave the mean age as 55.5 years with the median age being 58 years.

He also gave the median age for males as 52.4, compared to 58.1 for females.

Dr. Sarkodie also confirmed the number of deaths so far to be 22 persons, representing a case fatality rate of 0.43% of a case count of 5,127.

Out of the 22 who have died, he said only two had no comorbidities, meaning they were the only two who didn’t have pre-existing disease conditions.

Greater Accra has the highest number of deaths with a percentage of 68.2 while Ashanti has 18.2%.
