An Aflao Circuit Court has jailed two friends 10 years each with a fine of GHȼ6,000.00 each or in default five years each in prison for conspiracy and robbery.
Yaogah Dogbo, 28, and Kofi Anafla, alias Fofone, 26, have both pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and robbery and will serve both sentences.
Detective Police Inspector Michael Akemo told the court that Dogbo and Anafla, a farmer and commercial motor rider respectively, lived in Aflao, while the complainant lives in Somanya, Eastern Region.
He said at about 1030 hrs on September 28, the complainant who arrived in Aflao and was on his way to a friend’s house, was approached and queried about where he was going by the convicts and others now at large.
Mr Akemo said without any provocation, the group subjected the complainant to beatings, before stealing his GHȼ600.00 cash and a cellular phone worth GHȼ500.00 from him.
He said the next day, the complainant saw Dogbo and Anafla and called for their arrest.
