The Accra High Court has adjourned the hearing of an injunction application filed by disqualified presidential aspirant Samuel Apea-Dankwah, rescheduling it to Thursday.
Mr. Apea-Dankwah, who was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC), is seeking a judicial review to overturn the decision. Ahead of the main case, he has requested that the court halt all EC activities related to the upcoming presidential election.
On Monday, when the injunction application was presented, Mr. Apea-Dankwah’s lawyers asked for an adjournment until Thursday, citing the need for additional time to respond to an opposition motion filed by the EC.
Although the court initially suggested reconvening on Tuesday, his lawyers successfully secured the Thursday adjournment.
Speaking to Citi FM after the proceedings, Mr. Apea-Dankwah shared that his legal team has also requested the EC to produce documents detailing the criteria and decision-making process that led to his disqualification.
