Correct voter register anomalies to avoid electoral violence – Dormaahene to EC

The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to promptly address issues surrounding the 2024 voter register to avoid potential electoral violence.

He urged the EC to adopt a posture that fosters trust and confidence among political parties rather than creating doubt.

His remarks came during an address to former President John Mahama and his team in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital.

During the visit, which formed part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in the region, the Bono Regional House of Chiefs expressed their expectations for a future NDC government and shared concerns about national matters.

The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, voiced his apprehensions regarding the ongoing discussions about Ghana’s voter register, describing the situation as alarming and discomforting.

For his part, former President John Mahama responded by assuring that the NDC will fiercely resist any attempts to undermine the will of the people in the upcoming December elections, emphasizing that the party will hold accountable anyone who tries to interfere with the electoral process.
