About 37,954 persons have so far been tested in Ghana with 566 of them testing positive for COVID-19, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye has said.
He said at a press briefing on Tuesday that: “44,421 samples have been taken to be tested. 37,954 test results are in.”
Giving an update of the global and local situation, Dr Kuma-Aboagye said aggressive tracing, testing and treatment have been Ghana’s approach to get ahead of the virus and contain Covid-19.

Ghana, he noted, is doing 1,265 tests per every one million of the population. That’s the highest in Africa and 14th globally.
According to him, 83 people are in recovery status with 66 people in treatment already having tested negative for the virus once.
Two hundred and eight of the infected persons are well and in mild condition with two who remain critically ill. A total of 566 novel coronavirus cases have so far been recorded in Ghana with eight deaths.
