The Volta Region House of Chiefs has urged President John Dramani Mahama to consider individuals from the region in the formation of his government.
In a congratulatory message following Mahama’s historic return to the Presidency, the House emphasized the importance of including indigenes of the Volta Region in his administration to help achieve his economic rejuvenation goals.
Togbe Tepre Hodo, the President of the House, noted that the Volta Region plays a crucial role in Ghana’s cultural and economic landscape. He reminded the President of the promises made during his campaign, which highlighted the region’s need for fair representation in his governance.
“We want to urge you to consider our sons and daughters in forming your team and to ensure that the Region is adequately represented. They serve as role models for the youth of the Region and will undoubtedly support you to achieve your aims,” Togbe Tepre Hodo stated in his message, copied to the Ghana News Agency.
The traditional leaders of the region expressed their full support for the new administration, pledging to collaborate with the government to address both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. They expressed confidence that under Mahama’s leadership, the Volta Region would witness development that meets the needs of its people, ensuring no community is left behind.
Togbe Tepre Hodo concluded by reaffirming the House’s support for the new administration and wished President Mahama success in his endeavors, anticipating positive change under his leadership in the years to come.
