Condition under which Bawumia will join IEA presidential debate revealed

-

It has emerged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will only participate in the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) presidential debate if former President John Mahama attends.

This is according to the spokesperson for the Bawumia campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye after IEA set the debate for October 22.

Mr Aboagye in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM expressed the willingness of the Vice President to have a meaningful debate on national issues.

However, he believes the participation of his main contender in the 2024 election, National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama was important.

The IEA is expected to hold two presidential debates, one vice-presidential debate and five evening encounters ahead of the December 7 polls.

The vice-presidential debate is slated for November 5, 2024.

The first of the five evening encounters will take place on Wednesday, September 18, with the final one scheduled for Tuesday, October 15.
