Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey believes that increased competition for spots in the midfield could help the club win trophies in the upcoming season.
After missing a significant portion of last season due to injuries, the Ghanaian international is eager to reclaim his place in the team.
Partey emphasized that the depth and quality of the midfield options could be a game-changer for the team, praising the talent of his fellow players.
“We have a lot of players in that position. Jorginho is playing well, I am playing well. Dec (Rice) is there, Martin (Odegaard) too,” said Partey in an interview with Hayters TV.
Partey also highlighted the importance of healthy competition within the squad, noting that it ultimately benefits the team.
“We also have other players who can come in and make a difference. We have to compete against each other, and at the end of the day, it is the Mister (Arteta) who decides. With this kind of competition, we can reach the level we want to be at. The most important thing is for the team to achieve its objectives,” he added.
Thomas Partey and his Arsenal teammates are currently in the USA for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
Last season, Arsenal narrowly missed out on the Premier League title by just two points. They hope to end their trophy drought in the upcoming campaign.
