The Communications Ministry has issued directives for the implementation of the 9% communication tax increment.
According to the Ministry, the increment is from the existing 6% to 9% and was expected to take effect from September 4, 2019.
A statement signed by the sector Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful, said the increment was to provide revenue for cyber security initiative to protect digital infrastructures being used by the public and private sector.
“All efforts to get them revert to the September 2019 has failed as they literally extract their pound of flesh from their consumers.
“All unused data and voice bundles purchased by subscribers do not expire and must be rolled over to the next recharge.”
