A devastating car accident along the Sunyani-Abesim highway has claimed the life of a physically-challenged cobbler in his thirties.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident happened around 3 pm near the Oti Yeboah Company Limited (OYCL) section of the highway.
The deceased known as Connection was returning home from purchasing a phone charger when the driver of a private saloon car lost control and struck him.
Per information gathered, some bystanders including food vendors who spotted the faulty car approaching managed to flee for their lives as the car veered off the road.
Unfortunately, the deceased, who had his right leg amputated, was unable to escape and was knocked down by the car, resulting in instant death.
The police arrived at the scene around 4 pm and retrieved the body.
The driver, believed to be in his 70s, has surrendered himself to the Abesim police station and is cooperating with investigations.
