Closure of Salt FM: Appiah-Kubi denies involvement

-

Asante Akyem North Member of Parliament, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has denied any involvement in the closure of Salt FM, based in Agogo in the Ashanti region.

On Tuesday, February 6, some residents of Agogo took to the streets to protest the closure of the radio station by the National Communications Authority (NCA).

The NCA shut down the station due to the failure of its management to renew its authorization.

However, there were widespread allegations that Mr. Appiah-Kubi, who is reportedly establishing a radio station, may have influenced the NCA’s decision.

But speaking to Adom News, Derick Amoah who is the Special Aide to the MP denied all the allegations.

Salt FM is owned by prominent businessman Ohene Kwame Frimpong, who recently declared his intention to contest the parliamentary election as an independent candidate.
