The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has expressed grave concern over reports of armed thugs intimidating, harassing, and forcibly ejecting civil servants from their officially allocated residences in various parts of Accra.
The affected areas include Roman Ridge, Labone, Ridge, Kuku Hill (Osu), and Cantonments.
The Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Isaac Bampoe Addo, condemned the actions in strong terms, describing them as “barbaric and primitive acts” allegedly carried out by armed thugs, purported political party affiliates, and unauthorized individuals known as ‘goro boys.’
He called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and other security agencies to act swiftly to safeguard the lives and properties of civil servants in the affected areas.
“We urge the IGP and other security agencies to ensure the protection of civil servants and their properties. This situation must be addressed immediately,” Mr. Addo emphasized.
Additionally, CLOGSAG has called for a thorough investigation into the alleged sale of government properties and demanded urgent steps to halt any unlawful activities related to the matter.
The Association reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of its members and called for national support to put an end to such acts of intimidation.
