Clean-Jobs Company Limited has refuted allegations of involvement in illegal mining activities in the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve.
The company has said that it operates strictly within the confines of the law and in full compliance with Ghana’s Minerals and Mining Act (Act 703).
In a statement, Clean Jobs noted it has not yet begun operations within the Forest Reserve but has been actively fighting against illegal operators within its concession area.
It therefore clarified and reaffirmed its commitment to adhering to legal and environmental regulations in all of its operations.
“We have no interest or involvement in illegal mining and operate strictly within the legal framework,” portions of a statement read.
Clean Jobs further emphasised its commitment to environmental protection, confirming that all operations undergo rigorous environmental and legal assessments before they commence.
“We must also highlight that it is intruders who are conducting illegal mining activities on our concession, and certain individuals within the current political regime have prevented us from accessing our legally acquired concessions,” the company’s statement explained.
Clean Jobs clarified that it holds all necessary mining leases and permits from both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Forestry Commission, yet the illegal activities taking place on its concession have prevented it from carrying out its legal operations.
It further pledged commitment to engage all relevant stakeholders in open dialogue to resolve the misunderstanding and clarify the facts.
“We are confident that a thorough investigation will reveal the truth of our operations, and we are prepared to fully cooperate with any inquiries or reviews into our activities.
“We urge the public to disregard these false accusations and continue to support the positive contributions Clean Jobs Company Limited is making in local communities across the region,” the statement added.
