Churches in the Nkwanta South township of the Oti Region are set to observe their traditional 31st Night services with an adjusted schedule due to an ongoing curfew imposed by the Ministry of Interior.
Services will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., to ensure congregants can safely participate in the celebrations before the curfew begins at 8:00 p.m.
Speaking to Adom News, the head pastor of Salvation Baptist Church and Chairman of the Council of Churches in Nkwanta explained that, the adjustment was necessary to prioritize safety while allowing members to reflect and pray for the New Year.
“We have advised all churches to hold their services early so that everyone can be home before the curfew hours. It is essential to maintain peace and adhere to the directives for the safety of all,” he said.
He encouraged Christians to use the occasion to express gratitude for the past year and seek divine blessings for the year ahead.
The chairman also appealed to residents to foster a spirit of peace and togetherness during the festive period, emphasizing the importance of unity as the community welcomes 2025.
