Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, has announced Christopher Ennin as their new head coach.
Ennin takes over from Nurudeen Amadu, who parted ways with the club following a string of poor results.
Despite leading Samartex to a historic league title, Amadu’s tenure saw the team exit the FA Cup early and bow out in the preliminary round of their debut CAF Champions League campaign.
In a statement, the club expressed their confidence in Ennin, saying, “Chris is our man. We are delighted to confirm that Christopher Ennin has agreed to become the club’s new Head Coach.”
Ennin brings a wealth of experience to Samartex, having previously managed Berekum Chelsea and, most recently, Moneni Pirates in the Premier League of Eswatini.
He resigned from his position at Moneni Pirates earlier this season to accept the vacant role at Samartex’s Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
The new head coach faces a tough challenge ahead, with Samartex currently sitting on 17 points after 14 matches in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Ennin’s immediate goal will be to improve the team’s performance and climb the league standings.
Samartex’s next test comes in their upcoming home fixture against Nations FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
