The Chiefs and people of the Biakoye Constituency have commended the significant impact of the creation of the Oti Region.
The Oti Region, which was carved out of the Volta Region, is one of six new regions created by President Akufo-Addo’s administration to accelerate development.
While welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Buem in the Biakoye Constituency, the traditional authorities of the area praised the level of development the new Oti Region has seen since its creation.
“The creation of the Oti Region is a monumental achievement that has brought government closer to our people,” said the Chiefs, who also praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under both former President J. A. Kufuor and President Akufo-Addo.
“We recall with gratitude the era of J. A. Kufuor, under whose leadership we had a secondary school, laying the foundation for our youth to excel,” they said.
“Under the current leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Buem has witnessed even more remarkable development. We commend you for your role in the creation of the Oti Region.”
Additionally, they expressed their gratitude for the construction of the Hohoe-Jasikan road and the Jasikan-Dodi-Pepesu road. “These roads have been transformative, easy to travel on, and have enhanced connectivity within our communities,” they added.
“In the area of health, we recognize the Agenda 111 initiative and its impact,” the Chiefs continued.
The community also acknowledged the NPP’s massive investment in education, both at the local and national levels, highlighting the construction of classroom and dormitory blocks, as well as the Free Senior High School and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) policies.
