Chief Imam, clergy pray for Bawumia ahead of filing of nomination

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, on Monday morning led prayers for Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The special prayers said at the residence of Dr Bawumia, were to express gratitude to the Almighty Allah and also to seek His favours, as Dr Bawumia prepared to file his nomination forms at the headquarters of the EC, to contest for President of Ghana.

Sheikh Sharubutu led a team of scholars – both young and old, who recited the entire Quran to invoke the mercy and favours of Allah.

After the recitation, Sheikh Sharubutu thanked the Almighty for the life of Dr Bawumia, and also prayed for more favours and grace for the upcoming Presidential election in December.

The National Chief Imam also prayed for the continuous progress of the nation, as well as for a peaceful election.

Later in the morning, a group of the Clergy also visited the Vice President to pray for him, as he got ready to submit his nomination forms.

Similarly, the pastors prayed for God’s special favours on Dr Bawumia in this year’s election, as well as for a successful and peaceful election.

Dr Bawumia expressed profound gratitude to the National Chief Imam, as well as the Clergy for the prayers, and expressed satisfaction at committing the historic process of filing his Presidential nomination forms to the Almighty God.

At around mid-morning, Dr Bawumia, accompanied by his wife, Samira, Running Mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and his spouse, as well as a number of leading members of NPP.
