Comic actor Kwadwo Nkansah, alias Lil Win, has shed light on the hefty expenses incurred in producing his movie, A Country Called Ghana.
Speaking to Zion Felix in a recent interview, Lil Win revealed that payment for his foreign actors took a chunk of his budget, with Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah alone pocketing over $40,000.
The actor also ensured the comfort of his cast and crew, providing accommodations, meals, payments, and extra allowances.
Additionally, he disclosed spending over GHS 1 million solely on promoting the film, which covered costs for billboards and over 4,000 t-shirts.
Among the promotional expenses was the purchase of a Benz worth approximately GHS 500,000 to boost the movie’s visibility.
Despite the huge investment, Lil Win revealed he ran at a loss with the production of the movie as it garnered only attention but no return on investment.
Nonetheless, he expressed gratitude to a few high-ranking personalities and movie enthusiasts who supported him financially.
