The Accountant-General of the Federation of Nigeria, Ahmed Idris, has revealed the total amount spent on Covid-19 represents 84 per cent of the N36.3bn public funds and contributions received by the Federal Government to tackle the pandemic.
According to the Chairman of the Presidential taskforce on COVID-19, the Federal Government has spent over N30.5 billion on efforts to reduce COVID-19 between April and July this year.
He said there is a balance of N5.9 billion.
He said this in response to a Freedom of Information request jointly made by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project and Connected Development.
