The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Majority Caucus in Parliament has appointed new leadership.
This change follows President John Mahama’s appointment of some MPs to key ministerial positions in his government.
With the new changes, Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga, replaces Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who is now Finance Minister, as Majority Leader.
Cape Coast South MP, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, also succeeds Ellembelle MP, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, as Deputy Majority Leader following Buah’s appointment to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Additionally, South Dayi MP, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has been appointed as the Majority Chief Whip, taking over from Adaklu MP, Governs Kwame Agbodza, who is now Minister for Roads and Highways.
Ada MP, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, has been named First Deputy Majority Chief Whip, while Bia East MP, Richard Acheampong, serves as the Second Deputy Majority Chief Whip.
These changes come at a critical time, as the NDC Majority Caucus prepares to tackle pressing national issues, including economic challenges, infrastructure development, and social welfare reforms.
