Chaos erupts again as Minority accuse Majority of acting in bad faith

-

Tensions flared in Parliament on Friday morning as the Minority clashed with the Majority over the ongoing vetting process.

The incident, which occurred on January 31, saw the Minority accuse the Majority of acting in bad faith after proceedings commenced without their participation.

According to the Minority, they had been invited to a meeting to resolve concerns regarding the vetting process, only to later discover that the Majority had proceeded with the exercise in their absence.

This led to a heated exchange, further deepening the rift between both sides.

The disruption briefly halted proceedings, but the Majority insisted that they were fulfilling their constitutional duty. They argued that the absence of the Minority did not affect the legitimacy of the vetting process and stressed that Parliament could not afford unnecessary delays.

However, the Minority viewed the move as a betrayal of trust, further straining relations between the two factions.

Following a brief meeting between leaders of both sides, proceedings resumed, with the vetting of Health Minister nominee Kwabena Mintah Akandoh taking center stage.
