CHANQ: Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and Black Galaxies to overcome Nigeria

-

Former Black Galaxies midfielder, Emmanuel Asiedu Attorbrah has backed Mas-Ud Didi Dramani to lead the team to qualify for the 2024 CHAN tournament.

Ghana is set to face Nigeria in the upcoming qualifiers later this month.

Under the leadership of former Black Stars assistant coach, Didi Dramani, the team has been training intensively for several weeks in preparation for the match.

In an interview, Attorbrah praised Dramani’s management skills, emphasizing that he is capable of drawing the best performance from the players.

“Although I haven’t played under him directly, I’ve heard a lot of positive things,” he told Citi Sports. “He understands how to manage his players and bring out their best.”

Attorbrah believes Dramani’s leadership could be pivotal for the Black Galaxies, especially considering their recent struggles in the CHAN tournaments.

“I hope that with Didi in charge this time, they can perform well and overcome Nigeria,” he said.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by past teams, Attorbrah pointed to inadequate preparation and a lack of team cohesion as key issues that hindered success.

“During our time, we spent a long time in camp. The team was cohesive, we understood each other’s strengths, and everyone had confidence in the coaches and one another,” he explained.

He underscored the importance of thorough preparation, saying, “Winning matches and ultimately the tournament requires consistent effort.

“It’s about grooming the players, spending time in camp, and building team chemistry,” he added.

In the lead-up to the Nigeria clash, the Black Galaxies departed for Togo earlier today for a series of friendly matches.

Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg at Accra during the weekend of December 20-23, before travelling to Abuja for the return leg.

Since their last final appearances in 2009 and 2014, the Black Galaxies have yet to achieve significant success in the African Nations Championship.
