The management of Dormaa based Aduana Stars has revealed that the club has presented the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) as an alternative home grounds for the CAF Champions League if works on their home grounds is not completed before the deadline.
Aduana Stars, after the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season, closed their home ground, Nana Agyeman Badu II Park for renovations to meet CAF standards before the commencement of the Champions League January 2018.
“We have written to CAF to use Cape Coast Stadium as our home grounds if we are not able to complete works on our stadium in time. Management of Aduana stars considered the distance as well as cost of transporting the visiting teams and Cape Coast is low comparatively”, Aduana Stars’ Chief Executive Officer, Albert Commey, told Ultimate Sports on Asempa FM on Wednesday.
Mr. Commey said currently, work is ongoing on the park to replace the green grass on the pitch, get a doping and changing rooms and a good tunnel so they meet the basic requirements of CAF.
Aduana Stars is set to begin their Africa campaign in February after winning the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League season.
