Executives of the Chamber of Autodata Ghana, a leading industry body, have reaffirmed their commitment to shaping policies, regulations, and good market practices within Ghana’s automobile sector.

Executive Secretary of the Chamber, George Dumenu, explained that this initiative aligns with their vision to influence regulations, policies, and decisions affecting the country’s automotive industry.

He noted that the Chamber aims to create a favorable business environment, promote technological innovation, and advocate for industry-friendly policies that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the sector.

“Our goal is to be the premier policy influencer in Ghana’s automobile industry, driving data-centric regulations, fostering innovation, and ensuring sustainable industry growth,” Mr. Dumenu stated.

He emphasized that while the Chamber does not directly create laws or regulations, it plays a crucial role in shaping them through organized lobbying efforts and strategic partnerships with policymakers.

“When it comes to policies, we will engage with government agencies, lawmakers, and regulatory bodies to influence automobile-related regulations. Additionally, we will collaborate with industry players, including car manufacturers, importers, dealers, insurance firms, and technology providers,” he said.

Mr. Dumenu added that the Chamber will also organize capacity-building programs, training workshops, and forums to equip industry players with the latest knowledge and best practices.

“Our key focus areas include shaping policies around vehicle imports, emissions standards, road safety, and vehicle financing,” he concluded.
