Central University not collapsing despite challenges – Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of Central University, Professor Bill Buenar Puplampu, says the university is not collapsing as being reported by a section of the media.

He says the tertiary institution like many others is facing financial challenges.

Professor Puplampu attributes the situation to irregular payment of fees by students.

According to him, the university relies on such levies to run; so if the payment becomes irregular, then day to dayadministration becomes a herculean task.

He debunked some media reportage that the university is on the verge of collapse.

He made the statement at the 17th congregation of the school that saw over one thousand students graduating.

Meanwhile, central University VC has used the occasion to charge the graduates to use the knowledge acquired to createemployment for themselves rather than depending solely on government for jobs.

A student of the Human Resource ManagementDepartment Elizabeth Maame Esi Ewudiwa was adjudged the overall best student for 2018 graduating class.

She received One Thousand US Dollars and other packages as her prize.
