Celebrities who endorsed Menzgold have their brands dented – Mark Okraku

-

Programs Director of Hitz FM, Mark Okraku Mantey says celebrities who led Ghanaians on to invest with embattled gold dealership firm, Menzgold, have dented their image.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mark said even if the agitated customers decide not to take the ambassadors on, their brands will suffer.

According to the producer who doubles as the President of the Creative Arts Council, the various brand ambassadors such as Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Jackie Appiah, Joselyn Dumas, Becca and many others deserve an equal share of the blame for luring people to invest in Menzgold.

“I think that brand endorsement works. There are people who believe that if it comes from a reputable person then that is the truth. If Reggie Rockstone talks about something nice, I am going for it. People, who have influence and not popular, drive the minds of people towards the direction. You need people who have clouds to drive the agenda and it worked.”

Okraku explaining the impact of brand endorsement said, “Okyeame Kwame pushed me to check my hepatitis status but people have spoken about it several times and I was not interested.”
