A thief has been caught on CCTV stealing a new church member’s phone at the RCCG Christ Ambassadors Youth Church, Nigeria.
In the video, the suspect, wearing a pullover sweater, posed as an usher and approached the newcomer.
When the new member asked him to help charge his phone, the suspect took the phone and pretended to head for the socket.
However, under the pretext of praying fervently, he swiftly exited the church.
The church authorities are now seeking information from the public to help identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the theft.
The church hopes that with the community’s assistance, the suspect will be brought to justice.
The incident has sent a wave of shock as netizens wonder why a thief will operate in the house of God.
