Cassandra Twum Ampofo named among top 10 PR women in Ghana for the 3rd time

-

The Head of Public Affairs at the Ghana Education Service (GES), Cassandra Twum Ampofo, has once again been recognized as one of Ghana’s top Public Relations practitioners.

This marks the third time she has gained recognition, solidifying her reputation as a leading voice in the PR and communications industry.

The recognition comes from Women in PR Ghana, an initiative that acknowledges outstanding women in communications and public relations who play exceptional roles in rolling out campaigns and shaping brand narratives through impactful storytelling.

Cassandra’s inclusion in the list for the third time—first in 2019, then in 2020, and now in 2025—highlights her remarkable contributions to strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and public sector PR.

Reacting to the honour, Cassandra expressed her gratitude, saying, “This achievement is not just mine—it’s proof that dedication, passion, integrity, and consistency pay off.

“A heartfelt thank you to Women in PR for this incredible recognition. To my colleagues, mentors, and everyone who has shaped my career over the years, I am deeply grateful,” she said.

She also used the opportunity to encourage female PROs in the public sector, stating, “Let this be a reminder that your work matters, your voice is powerful, and your impact is undeniable. Keep pushing boundaries and setting new standards.”

A news release on Women in PR Ghana’s website explained the rigorous and detailed process adopted by a six-member jury, who assessed nominees based on innovation, leadership, strategic thinking, impact, mentorship, and the ability to leverage digital platforms for wider reach.

The release disclosed that in the 2024 edition of the Top 10 Women in PR Ghana, 26 nominations were received from the PR community, after which a six-member jury reviewed and shortlisted the entries based on the following criteria:

  • Must be working or practising public relations or communications with at least six (6) years of experience.
  • Must have planned and executed successful campaigns for their organisations and/or clients.
  • Must have used various mediums (traditional and new media) to share their works as Public Relations Professionals.
  • Must have been recognized through nominations and awards either on their own behalf or on behalf of their organisations or clients.
  • Must have engaged in speaking opportunities.
  • Must have mentored, educated, and supported other PR professionals.
  • Must have led and championed campaigns that have informed the general public about public relations in Ghana and beyond.

Cassandra’s recognition is a testament to the vital role of PR professionals in shaping public discourse and advancing meaningful engagement between institutions and the public.

Appointed as GES Head of Public Relations in 2018, she previously served as the Ashanti Regional PRO and was a professional teacher before transitioning into PR.

Other honorees in this year’s ranking include Esther Cobbah, Sophia Kudjordji, Ivy Heward Mills, Shirley Tony Kum, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Emma Wenani, Rita Agyeiwaa Rockson, and Maame Akua Amoah Twum.
