A private vehicle was completely engulfed in flames at the Okponglo Traffic Light on Tuesday afternoon, leaving the front part of the car severely burnt.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started suddenly while the vehicle was in traffic, sending thick smoke into the air and causing panic among road users.
A fire crew from the Legon Fire Station swiftly responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread to other parts of the car or nearby vehicles.
Although the fire destroyed the front section of the vehicle, no casualties were recorded.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but authorities have advised motorists to regularly inspect their vehicles for electrical faults and overheating issues to prevent such incidents.
